I find myself at this place multiple times during the week. I go for breakfast one day, lunch the next, and then for dinner another day, and I'm usually there for the nights events. They have great concerts, great food, the staff, at least the bartenders and bouncers are all fantastic and some of my good friends, and the service is more often than not fast and helpful. Just the other day after going to this place for a year and a half, had my first bad experience with service, but after mentioning it to the manager, everything got sorted out and I still had an excellent meal even though it was a bit slower than usual. And their drinks are fantastic. I've only had one bad drink there and that was after they just started a new barrel so the beer was a bit watery - I just asked for a new one and they gave it to me no problem. I can't say enough good things about this place. I never turn down an invite to this place. Read more

My friends and I decided to visit Cambridge for an out-of-town getaway. We are all admitted food snobs (one is a chef), so we perused menus and reviews online before heading out (we're from the GTA). It was pretty busy on Friday night so I am glad we made reservations. We arrived and were seated by a very accommodating host (who we found out later was an owner), and served by one of the most pleasant servers I've ever encountered (perhaps his name was Josh?). Every single employee at that restaurant was happy to be at work, which may not sound important, but it is and is one of the gages I use when I'm dining out. My husband and I both worked in restaurants for years, and happy staff says a lot about the owners, chef and overall customer experience that the server is trying to sell. Josh spoke highly of the owner as well as proudly explained the food and the creativeness of the chef and his menu. The food was fresh, creative and delicious. We were really delighted. It wasn't a five-star dining experience (but you are not going in expecting that), rather, it is a twist on pub fare that will leave you pleasantly surprised. We also enjoyed that the restaurant was not 'full of itself', the staff, chef and owners were humble and grateful for any compliments and made us feel welcome and appreciated as diners at their restaurant. My friends and I were sold from the moment we walked in. So much so, that we went back for lunch the next day (it was a no-brainer) and the chef came out to say hi to us and thank us for coming back! We cannot say enough great things about our experience there. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to visit Cafe 13 and enjoy their great food and hospitality. Read more
