While driving around the scenic Caledon Hills with two friends, we stopped for lunch at Tom's Family Restaurant. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the food was perfect for our needs - we didn't want an upscale, fancy restaurant, just a casual, friendly place with good food. I had some of the best fish & chips I've ever had. I couldn't resist trying the homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, and it didn't disappoint - it was heavenly! There are lineups at dinner time with hungry duos and foursomes forming a line that snakes all the way to the cases of steaming ducks, chickens and succulent pigs where you can get fantastic BBQ takeout. I once took a couple of pounds of BBQ pork to a small birthday party, and it was all gone by the time my spouse parked the car. This restaurant provides excellent food at reasonable prices if you order the dinner for 4, or 6, or however many there are in your party. The menu is fixed, but flexible in the choice of appetizers. The meal begins with broth, and appetizers but ends up with so many different dishes that the table groans. The food is fresh and dellcious homestyle Cantonese cooking. The waiters are generally efficient and capable of handling the crowds on weekends. Lots of free parking.

I liked Pho Hung. The staff is friendly and helpful, it was nice when he suggested I not get the fish soup as it maybe more on the fishy side. I got the veggie spring rolls which were very nice a little on the greasy side but tasted good after soaking in napkins for the extra oil. My veggie pho was really good!! the vermicelli looked good as well. we got lots of food and for $23 including tip for two people, who can beat that!!!
