I go here fairly regularly because this place does it up right. It's not a huge place and gets packed fairly easily, so there have been times when I simply haven't gotten in, but you snooze you lose. It is in an old victorian style home, taking up both floors. Downstairs seats a few tables and the main bar, while upstairs hosts a more casual atmosphere of games, chairs, etc....like you are in someones home. Decor is eclectic and funky, provides a nice touch to the visit. Service is always good to above average, the staff are trained well, know their beers well enough, and are always smiling. I've eaten here too many times to mention, but the wings are great, as is the cajun catfish sandwich. The wings are a great portion and the sauces are excellent. The catfish sandwich is spicy,savoury, very flavourful, well portioned, and well priced. I like that they have Boneshaker on tap on a regular basis. In fact, they only serve craft beer which speaks to the quality of the establishment. Clientele is a mix of somewhat obnoxious college hipsters and hippies that think they are re-living Woodstock for some reason, but I don't have to like them to like the place. Keep up the great work! Very fresh, well prepared food and the sauces complimented the food perfectly. There are a couple of different types of fish, and for those who don't enjoy fish there are also shawarmas and burgers. I had a hankering for a fish and chips lunch one weekday and decided to search my GPS's "points of interest" for something local. English Bay came up as the closest place and I sure am glad it did. It's a small cozy feeling restaurant, probably about 12-16 seats, not too busy (11:30am). The service was attentive, and the Haddock fish and chips?... the best I've had to date. Oh yeah, the gravy was unique and also tasted great! I thought the meal was a little pricey but being small and in a plaza, I know that rents can be pretty steep, I guess that kind of justifies it.
